About Central Library

The Central Library is the heart of the academic of IISER Berhampur. It has been designed to meet the information needs of the BS-MS Students, research scholars, and faculty of the Institute. Central Library at IISER Berhampur is rapidly developing its collection of books, reference books, periodicals. It has a collection of over 4100+ books that supplements the teaching, learning and research of BS-MS program and Ph-D program. The books are available in various disciplines like physics, chemistry, environmental sciences, Biology, mathematics, computer sciences, and Social sciences.

The Central Library has subscribed to the 2200+ International Journals access through, ACS, AMS, APS, IOPSciences, Springer, OUP, RSC, Wiley and Nature Group. It is committed to provide widest possible access to scholarly journals in science and allied subject areas to the user community. . There is IP based and unlimited access to all E-Resources for the user community. The Central Library enabled remote access service to all E-Resources for faculties and research scholars of the Institute. The Library has access to SciFinder and MathSciNet abstracting and indexing databases are part of the library's collection.

The library is a member of IISER Library consortium and e-SodhSindhu National consortium formed by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The IISER Library consortium negotiates the price and other terms conditions to all required E-Journal packages. In 2020, e-ShodaSindhu consortium provide access to Plagiarism Detection Software (URKUND) and Springer Database (1700+ E-Journals).

The Library has active institutional membership to DELNET organization. The DELNET provides Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery services for books and journal articles to its member’s institutes. The DELNET has connected with 5000+ institutional, public and special libraries in India and around the globe.

The Central Library provides various services like Reference Services, Document Delivery Services, WebOPAC, Information Services, Circulation Services and Photocopy Services to the user community.

Membership

Library membership is open to all students, faculty members, research scholars and staffs of the institute to use the facilities and services after filling up the membership form.

Borrowing Privilages

Only registered members can borrow General and TBL books, except books marks for “CR” (Course Reserve) and “R” (Reference) for stipulated periods as mentioned below.

Circulation Hours: Monday - Saturday: 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM

Circulation will be remain close on Sunday and other holidays.
